The authorities of the company Polski Standard Płatności boasted about statistics on transactions made by users of the Blik system last year. In total, they made 424 million different financial operations in this period, worth PLN 57 billion. In terms of number, it is almost twice as many as in 2019. In total, since the system was launched in February 2015, users have completed 777 million operations.

As for the data from Q4 2020, the number of transactions reached the level of 140 million, and their value - PLN 19 billion. For a long time, most of Blik's operations have been carried out in the e-commerce environment. It was no different in the last period of last year, when Blik was used 105.5 million times in online stores. The second most popular service offered by the Polish system is P2P transfers (to the recipient's phone number). There were 15.5 million of these in the discussed quarter (an increase of 167% year on year). In contrast, payments in terminals were around 12 million.
An interesting fact is that cash withdrawals from ATMs, which were the most popular at the initial stage of Blik's development, are now gradually losing their importance. In the fourth quarter of 2020, there were about 7.1 million of them, and thus they constituted only about 5 per cent of all transactions with Blik.

In the fourth quarter, Poles made an average of 1.5 million Blik transactions every day and the record daily number of transactions is nearly 2.4 million. The value of all transactions with Blik in the last three months of 2020 amounted to almost PLN 19 billion, and at the end of the year the number of active users reached 7 million people.
“We are very quickly approaching the first billion transactions, which will be a kind of symbolic achievement for us after 6 years on the market. The total value of the transaction with Blik from February 2015 to the end of 2020 amounted to nearly PLN 105 billion ”, emphasizes Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, President of Blik.
