It seems like our Polish Fintech Alphabet is the first attempt at cataloging companies representing Poland in this sector. The following list includes companies that use new technologies and work in the financial industry, offering their services to individual customers or businesses other than banks. I also decided that companies considered a part of the Polish fintech market need to have their main headquarters in Poland. I did not, however, consider the origin of the companies’ capital.

While compiling the Polish Fintech Alphabet list, I had various doubts. I wondered, for instance, if I should include online money exchange services, which have become a very common phenomenon. In the end, I decided these companies do fit my criteria. There are of course more companies that exchange money online than those included on this list, but in most cases the service is only an extension of the main, brick-and-mortar money exchange business. My goal was to include companies whose main business is exchanging money online.
