Payment services from Google Pay have become available at SGB and Pocztowy banks
Bank Pocztowy and SGB. The two financial institutions now allow their customers to use Google Pay. Both SGB and Bank Pocztowy have long been saying that they would like to implement not only Google Pay, but also Apple Pay for their customers. However, those promises remained empty - until now. The payment service is now active for both individual and corporate customers.

Google Pay is a contactless payment service for Android OS smartphone users. It can also be used to make payments online and in some apps from third party providers. It is available at 23 companies in Poland, including a dozen banks. Its direct competitor is Apple Pay, a similar service for iOS smartphones.

Contactless payment methods like Google Pay and Apple Pay have become more and more popular in Poland. The latest data from the first quarter of 2019 published by major banks operating in the country show that the services have over 2 million users in Poland.
