The new service will give customers access to luxury cars and best-rated drivers
Uber has informed its drivers that it will soon launch its Uber Black service in Warsaw. It will include rides with luxury cars and the best-rated drivers. The American company emphasized that it will be a premium service, geared towards the most demanding customers.

The increased comfort will be provided thanks to a very careful selection of vehicles. Every car will need to be verified at Uber’s Warsaw office before joining the service. Uber Black drivers will need an average rating of no less than 4.8 and drive cars with leather seats, included in the company’s list of makes and models. That list includes the Cadillac CTS and XTS, Volvo S80, Jaguar XF, Infiniti Q50, as well as Mercedes, Lexus, BMW and Audi, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Tesla, Maybach and Porche cars. The model year needs to be no older than 2012.

The cost of the service will, of course, be higher than Uber’s Select and X services. But I wonder if the company will actually find drivers in Warsaw willing to drive passengers in such expensive cars. The fact that Uber wants to introduce this service, which is already present in other countries, to the Polish capital, might be a reflection of changes on our market. Cab companies have long been saying that the Polish customer is mostly interested in a low price. The quality was being sidetracked, and that also included Uber. Now the American company apparently decided to reach for the more affluent and more demanding customer.
