Bank Śląski has been offering contactless mobile payments since March. However, they were initially only available to individual “Konto z lwem” account holders. Now sole proprietorship business owners who use a business equivalent of the account can use the service as well.

Bank Śląski emphasizes that using HCE payments requires an Android 4.4 or higher smartphone with an NFC module (an antenna that enables contactless communication with a store terminal). Customers may activate a digital Mastercard HCE payment card directly from their Moje ING mobile app. To use it for contactless payment, the user needs to unlock their phone and hold it against the POS device. Payments of more than 50 zł need to be verified with a PIN code in the store terminal.

Giving business customers access to HCE technology is not ING’s fina step in developing mobile payments. The bank is planning on introducing Visa brand digital cards and providing the bank's card holders with the possibility of using Android Pay. Google's payment service is becoming more and more popular in Poland, currently boasting approximately 80 thousand users.
