During the year, the number of cards added to digital wallets increased by more than 2.2 million
By the end of June this year, customers of banks operating on the Polish market had added more than 11.2 million cards to their digital payment wallets. As indicated by the data collected by the cashless.pl website, this is a new record. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of cards added to Portfel Google (Google Pay), Apple Pay, Garmin Pay, SwatchPay, Xiaomi Pay or Fitbit Pay grew by more than 420,000, while over the year it increased by more than 2.2 million.

The ranking is once again opened by mBank. Statistics presented by this institution show that at the end of the second quarter it registered over 2.6 million such cards, nearly 70,000 more than at the end of March and over 480,000 more than in the same period of the previous year. A slightly worse result was recorded by Santander: 2.481 million cards. Two more banks reported more than one million cards added to contactless mobile payments: Millennium and ING. Pekao is also approaching this threshold.
In fact, more cards have been added to digital wallets by customers than the data collected shows. Some institutions do not provide statistics on this, do not update them or they are incomplete. For example, PKO BP only discloses data on cards added to HCE (that's contactless mobile payments available directly in the IKO app).

The number of cards added to contactless mobile payments is not equal to the number of customers using these services. The latter, according to previous analysis by cashless. pl, is lower. The difference is influenced by several factors, including the fact that some customers have several cards added to mobile payments. On the other hand - the same card is sometimes used by a customer on different devices.
